Vancouver & The Women's World Cup
When I was 17 I watched from my parent’s living room as Brandy Chastain kicked the winning penalty kick to win the US Women their second World Cup victory. Meanwhile, the game took place less than 30 miles away in Pasadena! I’ve always regretted that I wasn’t in the stands. So, when they announced Canada as the location this year, I knew I had to go see at least one game. David and I drove up from Seattle and spent 3 days exploring Vancouver. Some highlights included meeting up with my good friend Melissa to hike the Grouse Grind, renting bikes with David and cycling through Vancouver for eight hours, seeing the small beach town where they filmed Psych (nerd!) and, of course watching the women’s team play Nigeria. I only wish I could have gone back for the final.
